MFA Press-Secretary Andrei Savinykh replies to question of “Interfax-Zapad”

26 January 2012

How can you comment the discussions on the Belarusian issue by PACE in Strasbourg?

The adopted report can be classified with confidence as a mediocre and stereotyped document, written on the basis of questionable data and false accusations from the Internet.

The author of the report did not visit Belarus and did not apply for a visa.

He was not among the members of the parliamentary delegation of Estonia that visited Minsk last October within the framework of interparliamentary cooperation.

This speaks volumes.

It is interesting to note that PACE did not even invite Belarusian parliamentarians to the discussion of this, let me call, opus, which is a clear demonstration of their biased and politically committed approach.

In the recent time we see that all these actions have very little common sense, they lack logic.

These measures are sooner aimed at serving career and reputation needs of their organizers.
