Belarus and China relations will develop in future

Belarus and China are "both interested in fostering bilateral relations in all spheres", chairman of the Lower Chamber of Belarus Vadim Popov stated during his meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Wu Xiaoqiu whose term of service is coming to an end.

During the meeting the speaker of the Lower Chamber V. Popov underlined that the activities of Wu Xiaoqiu gave great impetus to the promotion of the Belarusian-Chinese trade and economic relations. Mr. Popov reminded that the trade turnover grew up to $200 million USD in 2001.

In her turn, Ambassador Wu Xiaoqiu stated that the two countries' parliamentary relations had been developing very well. She reminded of All-Chinese Assembly of Representatives' chairman Li Peng's visit to Belarus arranged within three days only, which was "unprecedented in the history of the Chinese diplomacy", she said.

According to her, Belarus was a "culmination" in her diplomatic career. "I am touched by Belarusians' respect and love for China and I intend to bring deepest impressions back home". She stressed, she is prepared for further cooperation, too.
