On 19 January, Minsk hosted a regular round of Belarus-Russia consultations on consular matters.

The Belarusian delegation was led by the Head of the Consular Directorate of the Foreign Ministry Alexander Ostrovsky, the Russian delegation by the Director of the Consular Department Andrei Karlov.

The consultations focused on major issues of the consular agenda of both countries and specifically on how to improve the work of the relevant bodies in the implementation of commitments that Belarus and Russia have under bilateral treaties, including an agreement on the freedom of travel, choice of stay and domicile on the territories of both countries.
